About

Hi! My name is Sammi! I’m a non-binary disabled artist located in Worcester MA. I have a BFA from MassArt, where I studied interdisciplinary art and event planning/production, but I somehow ended up as a painter despite never having taken a painting class! Right after college, I worked as a cake decorator at a bakery in Boston that specialized in artistic and sculpted cakes. I spent hours of my life slinging frosting, painting on fondant, and piping flowers. After a lot of trial and error, I finally found the right materials that allow me to apply my decorating skills to my art practice.

I do much more than just paint flowers, though—I’m very much an interdisciplinary artist, and most of my personal work is messy mixed media pieces focusing on trauma and mental illness. I find it very funny that my two art styles are so vastly different! I make some art that is meant just to be pretty, and I make some art that has much more weight to it. I like to think it’s the best of both worlds.

Outside of my art practice, I love drinking coffee, cooking, and being cozy! You can often find me in a blanket burrito in bed with my fluffy orange cat.
